I have a 33.6 modem/sound card combo from an Acer unit I installed in
another system.  Where I live(in the sticks), I usually can only connect
with my 33.6 USR modem at a max of 26.4.  The oem Acer can go to 28.8 and
works fine at that speed.  But when it connects at 26.4 it will disconnect
when I start to pull down a web page or try to get my email.  I have tried
various speed settings in W98  for the modem without any improvement.   Any
help appreciated.
