Without knowing anything about Norton System Genie I would think it is
just a registry hack.  Download Microsoft's Power Toys and install
TweakUI.  On the Desktop tab you can set the items that Windows95 will
show on the desk top.  Don't know if this will work for you, but it is
worth a try.
