I just set up that arrangement myself, and it works perfectly.
Buy yourself a manual switchbox in any computer-supply store.
You've seen switchboxes for using two or more printers with one computer.
This switchbox looks exactly the same from the front, but the ports in the
back are made for a combination of three items - the monitor, keyboard, and
mouse.
You'll need two sets of cables for the setup.
To operate it, FIRST click the switch to A or B (depending on which computer
you want to use) and THEN turn on that computer. You can then work with the
same monitor but with a different mouse and keyboard - and a different
computer!
