  No such setting is supposed to be necessary -- if there is an AGP card
present, it will be used; if not then check for PCI or ISA cards.  It sounds
like maybe the AGP slot suffered slight damage when the old card "burned
out", or that the routine to check for another card if there's no AGP is
buggy.
