Hi, this is in followup and clarification to my previous answer.

I wrote that it was not possible to connect a green USB to PS2 adapter to a
purple
keyboard connector and was based on my own experience, but may wel be
related
specific manufacturers..

Some had proprietary plugs with slightly offset keys.Others had pinsockets
blocked
to prevent insertion into the "wrong" socket.

Others did not have the internal wiring correspond to the required signal
input pins
which is different for mouse and keyboard.
That's why there are 2 types - green and purple

Will it work for some green plugs? Yes possible.
But also possibly not on simple adapters.
The more advanced ones have a chip in them to direct the signals to the
right pins,
be it mouse or keyboard.
