JHM> I had the same problem, getting disconnected from the internet. I put a
JHM> string in the extra settings of the modem. To get there, go to control
panel>>modem>general tab>properties>connection tab>advanced> and in the
JHM> extra settings box type:
JHM> s10=100 s11=60

S10 - Delay between loss of carrier and hang-up, 1..255 seconds/10,
defaulted to 14 (1.4 seconds). Setting it to 100 will have modem
waiting for 10 seconds before hanging if the carrier was dropped.

S11 - DTMF (touch-tone) Tone Duration, 50..255 milliseconds, defaulted
to 95. Setting it to 60 would speed up dialing, but not all phone
stations will work good with this value. BTW, it has
nothing to do with the getting disconnected problem.
