This Amphenol-style connector, popular in 36 ways for
parallel printers, is widely used in 50 ways for SCSI-I.
Something intermateably similar is used as a Telco connector.

It is very tough, using large contacts with a wiping action
and has a very good self-aligning action.

As long as the manufacturer uses a reasonable quality of
of connector, I think this should be way down on your list
of worries. A little contact lubricant spray might help.

Fragility of the PCB assembly and plastic frame are higher
on my list. The connector itself is standard so might
be replaceable, though it could be a tricky soldering job.

Compatibility _is_ a problem. I use several SCSI trays and
my supplier has changed to another brand. I suspect these
won't be compatible and I was just wondering where to source
the type I use :-(
