All of the PII motherboards are ATX form factor. If you want to convert
from an AT style system to a PII, you'll have to buy a new case and power
supply. You'll still be able to use your AT keyboard (with an adapter) and
your serial or bus mouse. The rest of your hardware should also work just
fine.

The reason that the motherboards are all ATX is that the form factor is more
than just port location and a square power supply plug. The spec calls for
certain components to be located at specific places on the board. This
makes installing peripheral cards easier and puts the CPU in a position on
the board to subject it to maximum airflow (and cooling) and minimizes the
impact of the CPU's heat on other components.
