I have a server running an Asus motherboard that came with a Promise Ultra
ATA 100 controller onboard, two channels enabling up to four IDE devices. I
have two WD 60 gig drives on the primary channel now. And a 30 gig Maxtor on
the secondary one. My question is this. The new drives that I’m looking at
are Ultra ATA 133 and the documentation states that with Windows 98 you’ll
need a Ultra ATA 133 card for Windows to recognize them. Well that’s
basically the same with the 60 gig drives that I have now. But will the ATA
133 drives work and be recognized on a Ultra ATA 100 card?
