Windows Explorer does not include a simple display of this information.
There are utilities that will scan the disk, or tree structure and report to
you the sizes of the directories. I even wrote one myself as a programming
exercise. Samples of free utilities are Tree Size, Disk Usage, and Size Map.
You can do a search for these on download.com or other shareware/freeware
site. If you would like a copy of my own utility, send me a note and I can
get it to you.

Incidentally, your post is indeed in the grey area between PCBUILD and
PCSOFT.
