I would Not CHANGE ANYTHING ELSE before changing the monitor.
If all seems normal after changing the monitor, changing the video card
might create other problems, and it is fairly possible that the new video
card/board you install, might not be as good as the one you now have.

I've had very few problems with video cards/boards.
