  This cannot be correct, for the simple reason that 8088 systems
never used CMOS to hold configuration data.  Configuration was set by
one or two banks of DIP switches.  [Real-time clock was available,
but only from third parties and not standardized.]  CMOS
configuration first appeared on the 286-based PC/AT.
