Greetings everyone:
I have a strange problem that has everyone perplexed and I would
appreciate any help in solving this problem.

I set a client up on a home network using Intel's AnyPoint™ Phoneline
Home Network PCI Card 10 Mbps. One machine will shut down nicely and the
other, an HP Pavilion will shut down and within a few seconds start up
again.

I have called Intel Tech Support and they don't have a clue about why
this is happening. However, they assure me they are working on it.

I have upgraded the BIOS and installed the most recent drivers for the
cards which doesn't seem to help. I pull the card and the machine shuts
down and stays off. No problem there. I have swapped slots and it still
has the anomaly. I formatted the drive and installed Windows 98SE with
all of the upgrades and there is still no change. I have set the BIOS to
run the bare minimums without success. I have installed Windows 98,
still nothing. <smile> I will not throw in the towel. I know there must
be an answer and I humbly ask for your assistance.

HP Pavilion 8370
Intel 350 PII Cpu

BIOS Rev 1.09 09-28-98
Motherboard MFG. ASUS Model DB98XV
Chip Set Intel 82443 BX/ZX
Version 1.01
