To further this response...

If you use the old hard drive and OS, then you MUST run the repair 
option from the XP CD.  If you don't, you run a very high risk of 
damaging the XP installation that is on the hard drive, to the point 
of not being able to run XP.  The repair option needs to be the FIRST 
thing you do before you boot with the new motherboard.
