Hi everyone,
Happy Millennium. I just bought an IBM 17 GB UDMA/66 HDD. But my MoBo
supports only UDMA/33 (TMC TI5VG+) as far as I know. I have been able to
hook up the drive after some initial recognition problems from the CMOS. Now
it autodetects every time I turn on the computer and runs in PIO 3/4 mode (I
think ???).
My questions are...
1) Is there any chance of damage to the HDD as I am running it in UDMA/33
motherboard?
2) Is the overall performance being reduced in any way because of this?
3) Is there any benefit in dividing up the drive in to smaller partitions? I
am using Win 98.

Thaks in advance.

Dr. Muhammad Arif Ullah
