I agree on the Western Digital.  I have 3 pcs and have replaced 2 WDs (prior
to being 2 years old).  Of course WD replaced them both (5.1 g), but what a
pain.  So I still have 2 WDs and 1 Maxtor.  One of the WDs sounds like it is
about to go on me again.  I have all 3 pcs on UPS so the lack of longevity
shouldn't be blamed on that.  I don't know what the problem is but I intend
to replace these with larger Maxtor drives in the future.
