  Probably not.  ATA 100 is new enough that it should be able to run
the devices at different interface speeds, and a recent CD-ROM drive
should support a fairly fast interface speed in case it's used with
an old controller that forces all devices to the speed of the
slowest.
  So you should be covered both ways.
