I went to the MSI website, and they have a description of the NEO4-F here:
 http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=K8N_Neo4-F&class=mb

A search said that "MSI K8N Platinum" does not exist. (You can try yourself.) Usually terms like
"Platinum" means that the motherboard is bundled with more stuff - cables, features, software, etc. - at
a higher price.

For good quality memory that is guaranteed to work with with the motherboard you select, go to
www.crucial.com and use their memory selector. Generally (in my experience), memory is specified like
DDR400 - the type and the speed, rather than by the voltage it runs at. Look on the spec sheet for
another description. For example, the K8N above runs up to four GB of DDR400 memory in four slots. "4
DIMMs w/ DDR 400 upto 4 GB"

Subject: [PCBUILD] MOTHERBOARD SELECTION AND CAMPATABLE MEMORY

Hi to all:
I have narrowed my search down to two motherboards.
MSI K8N Platinum and
MSI K8N NEO4-F
I would greatly apppreciate it if someone could explain to me the difference between the two boards. They
look the same to me.
I also need to select memory. There is something that I do not understand.
On the MSI Site they say that the motherboard supports 2.5 volt memory. How do I make a determination
whether the memory in question is 2.5?

Thanks in advance.

Daniel
