Hi,
  In a computer that old, the BIOS is probably limited to HD's of 512MB or
less. To use all of the new drive, you will have to do one of the following:

1. Buy and install a separate IDE controller that has it's own BIOS to handle
large drives (ex: Promise Tech. makes them).

2. Install a disk manager program (ex: Ontrack Disk Manager) to overcome the
existing BIOS limitations.

  The first way is preferred, but I doubt you want to spend much (if any)
money on a computer that old (the IDE BIOS card is about $50), so that leaves
the second method. The disk manager program can be downloaded for free from
the disk makers website.
  If this HD is in addition to the boot HD already installed, the disk
manager software will need to be installed on BOTH drives to work.
