Hello all, I have wrote before about my Seagate hard disk failing. I bought
a new 3.2 Western digital HD. My computer bios detected the disk (although
after quite a while) but gives a hdc failure massage when the system boots.
I took it to my freinds computer, their it worked just fine, I partitioned
it and installed win98 there but my comp. again gave the same 'primary hdc
failure' on startup.
Then I tried it on two other comps. but even those failed to recognise it.
Since it worked fine on my friends comp. It seems that my computer has
killed it. I am very worried about it. There is a 3 year warranty on it but
only if the harddisk isnt burnt or broken. Now my question is what could be
the problem in my system and what do I say to the dealers of western
digital. Will they replace it if I tell them that my system has killed the
HD.If the HD is burnt, can the BIOS detect it? Please some one help me out.
