Since you have a tape backup, I believe all you need do is restore
c:\windows\system\oeminfo.ini.
Be certain to place it in the original location, i.e., c:\windows\system.
This file is editable, BTW, so if you want to make changes, you can do so
within certain constraints.  (I believe there is a limit on how many lines
may be included, but I am not sure what that limit is.)
This is a sample of my oeminfo.ini file.  Obviously I customized it for my
own computer.
