mean (1) you will copy from CD to another CD? Or (2) you need to copy some
files from your old Compaq and place burn it in a CD?

If your choice is (1), how about physically transferring your CD drive
from the Compaq to your new PC?

If choice is (2), try getting the hard drive of the Compaq, and connect it
to your existing computer.  Make sure that your new PC does have an
anti-virus software.  If successful, you can run a virus scan to your old
hard drive and then you could copy the file(s) which you want to copy.  Hope
