This is not true. I have two Linksys EtherFast 10/100 MB cards in the same
PC. One is connected to a cable modem, the other is connected to a hub.
All PCs are running Sygate to access the internet with a single account.
You must, however, insure that each NIC on the network has a unique IP
address. The NIC connected to the cable modem uses the TCP/IP address
assigned by the ISP. The other uses the standard default addresss of
192.168.0.1 with submask of 255.255.255.0. The other PCs on the network all
use a gateway setting of 192.168.0.1 (the IP address of the "gateway PC")
and an IP address of 192.168.0.x. The DNS for all PCs connected to the hub
should be the DNS address of the "gateway PC".

System Manager will show that both NICs are using the same interupt with PC
steering enabled.

windows 95/98 does not support two (or more) network cards active at the
same time. you can install both, but you must deactivate one in order to use
another. only windows nt supports multiple NIC's.
