Are there any floppies in the drive?

After the computer has been on awhile will a cold-boot produce the problem?

Which version of the Award BIOS is the computer running? What operating system?

There may be other options re: the floppy drive, but I'd need to know
the BIOS version.

During a warm boot, a BIOS still checks peripherals, including A:.
And it may verify the drive and any boot sectors.

Cheers,
