Subject: [PCBUILD] FlashBios

> I'm trying to update the bios on a Dell Dimension P90t. The current version of the American Megatrend bios (1995), will not read beyond 16MB of RAM. I downloaded and copied a newer version of the bios (bh_a11.exe) onto a startup disk. I restart the computer using the disk. The system starts all the way up to the A: prompt. I then type in the executable file for the new bios, and it launches the program. The problem is that this program returns an error message, that reads "unrecognized system". Tapping any key closes the program and returns me to the A:prompt. Any suggestions as to why this program is not recognizing the system. If you need additional specs, I'll be glad to provide them. Thanks in advance....Nick

Nick,

From the Dell site the newest BIOS for Dell Dimensions is the A09. This is probably why you are getting an unrecognized system. You need to go to the Dell site and download the newest version of their BIOS for the Dimension and the operating system that you are running. The site address is:
