Michele mentioned that she rarely uses Scandisk - just thought I'd mention,
for the benefit of those who don't know, that it's possible to turn off the
automatic scandisk that kicks in on the reboot following an accidental
shutdown in W98. Go to Start\Run and type 'msconfig', hit OK then Advanced
button then check 'Disable Scandisk after Bad Shutdown'.

Note I'm not necessarily saying it's a GOOD idea, just that it's possible
<grin>

I've done this before and I'm doing it right now on my own pc, as I've been
plagued with spontaneous reboots for a few days and the startup autoscan
takes forever to do a file check. However, if I DO run my pc this way, I
make a mental note to run Scandisk occasionally from Windows.
