N.R.I. is one of the older "schools" and is probably just as good
as I.C.S., the other oldie-goldie in correspondence courses.

I don't have first hand experience, but from what I've seen in their
brochures and literature, you pay a *very* high price for a marginally
current model PC and a training book.  I think you could save a significant
amount of money if you just buy a $30-40US "how to repair" type book from
your local bookstore and buy the components yourself.

The only advantage I see to correspondence courses, is that they
hold your hand every step of the way and give you lots of pictures.
If you are mechanically inclined and adventurous, I think you would
have more fun doing it yourself.
