While my thinkpad also uses MWAVE -- I'm in an airport now, using the
beast -- and a great majority of thinkpads shipped with MWAVE, some
thinkpads use other modems. MWAVE was a rather expensive option. Your
PCMCIA card should say what kind of modem it is; may NOT be mwave. Let
me get off the road, get settled and I'll see if I can post anything
else of use.
