Why not just install a second drive and jumper it as a slave and leave operating system as it is with all their
settings and configurations intact.  If you want to make it a master and start from scratch, you should not have any
problems as long as it is recognized in bios.  I like to partition large drives with the operating system on a
smaller portion so it doesn't need to run the whole drive while using different software, and less need to defrag
the whole drive.
