(I ask "why" because W2K is seriously out of date and no longer
supported. It's entirely possible there are alternatives to using this
insecure dinosaur.:) It's likely to be the cause of this problem.
What feature does it have that you like?
A USB hub might be useful in this case.

Why not Win2K?

Why do you need ask? 'Tis an OS. No?

There are features of W2k that I like and will use. The system will be
multi-boot:
Win7 is installed and partially config'd on 1 of the (unplugged) HD's.

I looked and downloaded quite some time ago:
