Hard drive offline in win2000

OS  win2000

The dynamic hard drives are being recognized by the operating system, as seen in Storage/Disk Management, but they are off line.  When I right click and choose Reactivate Hard Drive I obtain an error No valid log copies in disk group.

How do I work around this problem?
