Al;
you can also type "scanreg /restore" (no quotes)
at a dos prompt, it should show some recent backups
of your system that you can restore from.
If that doesn't work, and you can't boot to safe mode,
you may have to re-install windows.
I have found that incompatible memory can be responsible for these
kind of errors.
