Subject: Slave HD Not found

The C: drive on my IBM Aptiva with Windows 98 SE was a Quantum Big Foot.
I installed a Seagate Barracuda 100 GB Ultra AT/100 according to instructions,
intending to make the new Barracuda C: (master) and the old Big Foot D: (slave). The installation program
moved almost everything, the operating system, applications, data, etc. to the new disk. (Seagate
support had to tell me to give a sys C: command to install the system files). Everything runs fine from the
new disk. However, it does not recognize the slave, i.e. the old Big Foot.
I ran the computer with the slave detached, turned it off, re-attached the old Big Foot, and turned the computer
on again. It does not recognize the slave in the device manager or the system tools/storage/drives. I also
went through the control program/install new hardware and it does not find the Big Foot slave.
The new disk came with a new ribbon cable which I installed.
By the way, I had an old disk as a D: drive before this installation and it was working fine.
I would appreciate any suggestions.
