You need W2000 service pack 3 as per:
http://www.seagate.com/support/kb/disc/capacity/137/os/win2000.html


You also need the BIOS to support 48-bit LBA.
http://www.seagate.com/support/kb/disc/capacity/137/bios.html
OR you need a a Dynamic Drive Overlay (DDO) to overcome the
BIOS limitation.
