Hi,

Upgrading older technology wth new technology will get you this type of
problem.

Manufacturors of memory have increased the density of the modules used to
make the s-drams and now have single sided ram and double sided ram and the
old Bios can't see some of it. It costs the manucacturors less to make the
chips with less modules on it. Some boards will see only single sided and
some only double and some will do both. Best to check for a BIOS update
for the board.

Chances are, if you found the book for the main board and read it, it would
give you the limits of the memory and you might be surprised to see that
you can't put the larger chips of today in. I had one customer tring to
put a 512 module in a board that would only take 3 128M modules. He read
the book after trying....

God Bless America!
