I just installed a new hard drive in a laptop and somehow the registry 
entries for .NET were messed up. Supposedly I could uninstall all the 
NET versions, but then I could not reinstall any of them as some 
registry entries were erroneous. I found the following site with a last 
resort .NET removal tool. As a last resort I downloaded and used the 
tool. Worked great as I was then able to reinstall .NET.
