It's really good, but doesn't give the info a newb like me finds easy
to decipher.  Lots of visual aids, tho, and thanks for the link.

I would love to have a good reference with pictures, a verbal
description in layman's verbiage, what it likely came with, what it
can be used for, what it can't be used for, and any caveat other than
the usual go forth at your own risk type.

I need to clarify that it apparently isn't the cables that have me
stymied, but the cables and their adapters.

So, maybe that site could include a glossary, too?  :)
