Mabuhay!

I am posting this question hoping that this is really a hardware problem. I recently recieved a copy of Xandros desktop, a Debian Linux distro with KDE desktop. I loaded it on a separate hard drive D: where it ran beautifully except for the fact that it could not find my modem. I am using a ECS K7S5A mobo and a CNet 5614XE external modem on Com 1 IRQ 4 which in theory should work without a hitch in Linux but it does not.

I know the set up works with Win98 but I recall that I could not get it to run initially because of some drivers I lacked. Which ones I could not recall completely except for the PCI drivers and AC97 Sound Driver.

Could anybody please help me? Thanks in advance!

Joseph
