Greetings--

I am going to be doing several upgrades to a client's computer this
weekend--memory, service packs, and a couple of other 'odds 'n ends'. The
man is a dentist who would like to use his Iomega Jaz drive (external) to
transport data from his dental office software at his two offices to his
computer at home, where he will also have his dental software installed.
His computer is a NEC Ready P133 running the first build of Win95. I'll be
boosting his memory from 16 MB to 48 MB to give him at least the required 32
MB and then some. (I really didn't take much note of hard disk size, etc.,
but I believe he has enough room for the software, an adjustment to his
virtual memory, and any SCSI utilities that may come with the Adaptec
card--the model to match what he has at his office.) I have heard of many
people doing this sort of thing, and my question may just fall into the
category of 'what a dumb question!' for those of you well-versed in the ways
of SCSI. Still, here goes . . .

In short, are there any problems I should anticipate installing an Adaptec
2930U SCSI Host Adapter Card with no SCSI devices attached to it in the
above machine? Or, should I have my client bring home the Jaz drive for the
installation procedure, in order to facilitate the installation?

Thanks in advance,
