Somehow my CD-R/RW drive (E drive) was renamed by mistake. I discovered
it this morning when I tried to use it and the door would not open. It had
151 "Applog" files in it. I deleted them only to discovered the drive had
been renamed "Misc". When I tried to use the "Emergency Recovery" disk, I
discovered that my regular CD-rom (drive D) would not work either. It would
make a humming noise trying to read the drive.

How can I rename this drive back to what it was?
My OS in Windows ME pc.
If either of the two CD drives would work, I would try installing the drive.

Can I use Windows ME "restore" and only restore the CD drives part?
Just had my high speed cable internet installed a few days ago and hoped not
to mess that up!!!
If so, how?

Any thoughts on correcting this CD-R/RW drive in short of pulling it out and
getting a new one!!! Geeze!!!

Thanks in advance!

Mary
