My good friend has had an Acer V3 571G laptop on which the power connector has broken, so I'm giving her my used Acer V17. But I'm stuck at copying her files from the old computer to the new...

My plan was to pull the dive from the V3, plug it into a SATA/USB adapter, and plug that into a USB port on the V17.

So I pulled the drive bay cover on the underside of the V3. The good news is that the drive is a240GB SSD, so probably draws less power than an HD...
The bad news is that he drive is held in a kind of a rail assembly, and I can't see any way to remove the drive without removing or pivoting the rail assembly first -- and can't see how to do either.

I suspect that the SSD is not the drive that originally shipped in the V3, but I'm hoping that the rail assembly is original, and hat somebody on the list has seen it and can provide yhe clue I need.
