I am not sure if this is a software issue or a hardware issue. I suspect it
may be both:

I recently installed a SCSI card in my Win98, Gateway 366. The card was an
Adaptec. I have an external drive, that I'd like to hook up to the SCSI
port. My computer also has 2 internal CD drives (ROM and RW). These 2
devices are working fine. What doesn't seem to work is the SCSI device (the
older external drive). I've tried the plug and play approach and let
Windows find the drive and install what is needed. This doesn't do
anything. I've written the HD company for drivers that may be needed and
they claim all that is needed is to reformat the drive and start using.

Can you have IDE and SCSI devices at the same time? Is there a trick to
installing a SCSI card that I needed to do?

Thanks in advance.
Marshall
