If cleaning the drive does not work I would check to see if I could disable the
drive in the BIOS. If the BIOS allows this then you could see if the computer
operated normal. Based on what I read about the computer (from here:
http://www.sunlink.net/~jays/notebook.htm) you can't slide out the drive. I'm
not familiar with the computer so I don't know about taking it apart but I will
say from some I've seen taking the FDD out can be hard and some easy.
