Windows ME insists on using its own drivers for scanners and cameras,
and trying to use supplied drivers can cause a troublesome conflict.
Try not installing any software and letting the scanner/camera wizard
set you up. This may mean you can't use bundled editing software to edit
the scan, which is far superior to editing after the scan, but apparently
it can't be helped.
