Hi, what you could do is put a normal hub in between your computer and
your existing hub / router, the cable from your computer would go to
port 1 on the new hub, and the cable from the original hub / router,
would go into the cascade / normal port, there is usually a button by it
to switch it between the 2 options, so you can link multiple hubs
together, when that port is set to the cascade setting, it will allow
network traffic to go through it but when it is set to normal mode, it
will not communicate with your existing network, thus removing your
computer from the network

Subject: [PCBUILD] Network connection on/off switch

Hello

I have a home network via Windows XP. All the pc's connect to the
internet
via ADSL ... everything works fine.

Security on the network is not a major issue except for my PC.

What I would like to be able to do is 'physically' remove and add my PC
from/on the network.

Therefore my question is:

Is it possible to add an on/off switch (so that it's located in a
convenient
place) with the network cable running through it?

I appreciate the method sounds crude ... but it will give me peace of
mind
'if it's feasible'?

TIA ... Mick
