Yep.  I use one made by Prolific, that specific model doesn't appear to be
available any longer but here's a similar item:

Subject: [PCBUILD] COM port cable needs a laptop connection

I have a Sharp Wizard OZ750 that uses a COM port to attach to my desk
top.  My new HP laptop ze5730 does not have a COM port.  Is there an
adapter of some sort that will allow a connection through the phone or
mouse or USB ports or...?
