After setting the CMOS correctly, and replacing ribbon cables, floppy
drives, and using various disks, both A and B [1.44mb] floppy drives
begin to run an 'exe.' file, but after a couple of seconds--hang up.

The screen freezes, the floppy drive light is on, the wheel spins, but
nothing happens. This is on either A or B floppy drive. Also,
because the floppy won't work, the machine will not boot to floppy
[which is my biggest problem]

At prompt A:> or B:>, I can use 'dir' and see the list of files, but
it's very slow. Running any kind of installation file or trying to
boot just locks up. CMOS is set right, red-traced wire to pin #1, and
no pins are bent.

ideas? I'm stuck...
odd...?
