Sounds to me like you have a system bus failing, either from bad traces or a
damaged northbridge or southbridge chip. Another possibility is that the
power supply is flaking out and causing all manner of errors by dumping
dirty voltage to the mainboard. Try swapping the power supply first for a
known good one before chalking this up to a mainboard failure. I would think
that your video card is not at fault here because your first swap for a
different card did not affect the symptoms. Still not a bad idea to test it
out on a known good machine, just in case. Hope this helps out.
