I need to transfer information from one computer to another. I understand that I need a Null Model Cable or Serial File Transfer Cable in order to then use the File and Transfer Wizard in XP.

What are the chances of transferring the virus to the new computer, if I transfer all his Word and Excel documents over to the new system? I don't know what the virus is, because when I try to do a scan, the old computer crashes.
