Called Western Digital over the Raptor's 74GB performance.  When loading a
391MB audio file from the Raptor [10K rpm] it takes 95 seconds; from my old
ATA133 Maxtor ONLY 42 seconds...repeatedly.  WDC is pointing fingers at the
EPoX MB, maybe drivers.  I have all the latest BIOS and drivers that I can
find.  I must add that I have a SATA converter on the Maxtor using a SATA
cable.

In converting an WAV file to MP3 using both HD's for read and save for
comparison, the Raptor takes about 50% longer.

Any thoughts that can assist?   Thanx, JJ
